Ells, John L.-1st Sergeant April 26, 1861. Elected 2d Lieutenant June 19, 1862. Wounded, Sharpsburg, Md. September 17, 1862. Acting Adjutant October 1862. Wounded, Manassas Gap, Va. July 23, 1863. Retired, account of wounds, in 1863.
Born in Georgia, he lived in Troy, New York, for some years before the war, and settled in Baltimore after the war. He died in 1889.
